Nana and Granddaddy are here!!!!!!!!! I will be dedicating the next few blogs to their visit which is short (just one week) but has been so, so fun so far. Suzy has astounded me with a huge language burst this week in particular...i think being around other english speakers has caused all these words and phrases that she had tucked away in her brain to come out of her mouth. And then when Elvis's mom came over last night, she busted out the spanish and was entertaining both crowds! It's fun to actually be able to have a conversation with her now and for her to be able to clearly communicate what she wants, what hurts, when she wants to go potty, etc. Last night she was in the tub and told us she wanted to use the potty, successfully peed in the pot, even used toilet paper (who taught her that?!), and was so excited about our congratulatory pee-pee dance that she clapped and shouted "More dances!!" I'm so glad that mom and dad have had this opportunity to be with her in such a fun stage of learning.
For our first full day together, we took off to our favorite spot at the beach since it was Independence Day and nobody had to work. The road was washed out by the waves for part of the way (only in El Salvador), but we made it finally and got a 50% off coupon for our next trip to that hotel due to the inconvenience....anybody wanna come visit? ;-)
What trip would be complete without a visit to our new favorite gelato shop?More to come!
